Time of the ColourMAY 2025 - JUL 2025. London, UK
This piece reflects both repetition and subtle variation — in structure, in colour. Reflecting my own pursuit of simplicity in design, using repetition as a framework to highlight subtle variations and quiet moments of play.
This weave originated from the contemplation of fading. Is fading color truly undesirable? I believe it possesses a unique beauty all its own. The use of red cabbage pigments is suitable for this project due to their quick fading properties. The process began with dyeing the yarns, which I then wove into a single fabric, observing how the colors evolved over time. I subsequently re-dyed the piece, embracing the beauty found in the fading process and exploring the layered passage of time through color. This method enabled me to reflect on how colour transforms through wear, light, and age—not as a loss, but as a quiet accumulation of time and meaning.
